Concepts and binary relations Matching using Description Logic and reasoning

This paper presents a novel ontology matching approach named ONTMAT. The proposed approach uses Description Logic (DL) based inference rules, where alignment is performed using external knowledge, in the form of WordNet dictionary with semantic reasoning methods applied to solve usual encountered matching problems such as: synonyms, polesemy, homonyms, etc. Moreover, the similarity measures are handled to align the concepts and instances. Furthermore, alignment of binary relations using hierarchical relations, is also considered and handled. The approach is simulated and tested under conference task of Ontology Alignment Evaluation Initiative (OAEI) 2017. The obtained results are here detailed and commented.
