A Time-Efficient Energy Forecasting Model for Cooling Load Consumption in Thai Houses
|
|
Building energy simulation requires a significant investment in terms of knowledge, skill and time for the field data collection. As a result, most people experience difficulties in their ability to measure performance savings from altering designs in the context of home energy efficiency. As such, they could make a bad decision when choosing lower energy efficiency techniques for home improvement. This present study develops a quick and accurate energy model with the capacity to predict household cooling energy consumption. Eight hundred scenarios towards architectural designs and building orientations are randomly generated using the Latin Hypercube method. The standardized regression coefficient is used to determine a strong correlation between design variables and household cooling energy consumption. Lastly, the calculations of time investment for data collection and time processing are compared with the levels of model accuracy. The fast and accurate one is proposed as the time-efficient energy forecasting models that could help residents and designers in the design decision. In addition, they can easily estimate the percentage-savings obtained from their designs or home retrofits based on time availability.
