Improving Concrete Properties By Using Carbon Nanotube

Concrete is a mixture of weakness in tension and strength in compression. Previous works indicate that Carbon Nano Tube CNT can significantly improve concrete properties. Then the aim of this study is to review the practical data about changing concrete properties by CNT. Usually, there are normally 3 methods to add CNT to concrete uniformly by adding to cement, adding water into and adding it to the mixture. In this experiment, the second method has been used. For strengthen, less water has been used and The operating time is set. To have the most effect of MWCNT it should be scattered equally all over the concrete mixture and then ultrasonic shod apply to it. Various percent of MWCNT with 0.15, 0.45 and 0.2 percent of cement weight has been used. The tensile strength of concrete containing MWCNT with the percentage of 0.2% unusually rise up and in 7, 28, and 90-day ages in shows strength rising. While the tensile strength of concrete containing carbon Nano-tubes with 0.15 and 0.045 have fluctuation in its tensile strength at the 7, 28, and 90-day ages and the maximum tensile strength is at the 28-day age.
