Mechanical Properties Of Polymer Concrete At High Temperatures
|
The mechanical properties of Polymer concrete have been investigated in this study. Polymer and conventional are two types of concrete which have been compared in this study. In order to compare, the results of conventional concrete at age of 7, 28 and 90 days is analysed. The experimental analysis shows that,at elevated temperature, the failure strength of polymer concrete has been improved. Nevertheless, polymer concrete at elevated temperatures represents a gradual reduction in the failure strength, at an almost non-linear rate to zero at about 600o C. The failure strength of the concrete type 4 did not represent any significant changes until 0o C-400o C; while beyond such tempreture the failure strength decreased dramatically. The results of the present study can be fruitful for input in computer programs for modeling the fire behavior of Polymer concrete structural members.
