Liquid-liquid Equilibria For Vegetable Oil + Free Fatty Acid + Organic Solvent Using Thermodynamic Modelling And Ann
|
In present work liquid- liquid equilibria of nine ternary systems consisting of vegetable oil – free fatty acid – organic solvent at different temperatures have been studied by thermodynamic modeling and artificial neural network. During the calculations, vegetable oils are considered as a single component. The NRTL activity coefficient model has been used for correlating experimental data. Binary interaction parameters of constituent materials in each ternary system have been reported for this model. A Richford- Rice algorithm has been applied for liquid- liquid equilibria calculations. Also, a multilayer neural network with back propagation learning algorithm has been used for obtaining the weight fraction of each component in two phases in equilibrium. Several network configurations were examined. To obtain better results two separated networks for each phase were employed. Optimum structure of neural network including the number of layers and neurons in the hidden layer have been reported. Obtained values of RMSD for both of thermodynamic modeling and artificial neural network show that studied models can correlate phase equilibria of studied systems very well.
