Application Of Forward Osmosis Method In Recovery Of Refined Sewage With Magnesium Chloride

One of the best treatment methods is to use forward osmosis system. This method has better performance in removing pollutants and much lower power consumption than other common methods in this field. In this project, Forward Osmosis was used for industrial wastewater treatment. In the first stage, industrial wastewater was added to 200 liters of urban water by adding 70 grams of molasses. The parameters considered were measured. COD=350,TDS=1450,pH=6.7 .In the next stage, the effluent was treated with seven different concentrations of draw solution. The results obtained with magnesium chloride 1 molar solution, 93% yield for 53.5 hours, 1.5 M magnesium chloride solution, 94% yield for 46.5 hours, magnesium chloride solution 2 M, 96% yield For 30 hours; magnesium chloride solution 2.5 molar; 96% yield for 28 hours; magnesium chloride solution 3 molar; yield of 97% for 24 hours; draw solution of magnesium chloride 3.5 molar; yield 97% for 18 hours; and a draw solution of 4 Molar magnesium chloride, 97% yield for 16 hours. The draw solution used was magnesium chloride solution. Because it requires a little energy to recycle, it simply separates from freshwater and does not produce toxicity. It also does not chemically react with polymer membranes.
