Fabrication Of Cellulose Acetate Supported Alkali Metal Functionalized Ionic Liquid Membrane For Electrochemical Measurements Using Impedance Spectroscopy

Present research work is based on three approaches 1) synthesis of imidazolium based ionic liquid (IL), 2) alkali metal (Na) functionalization, 3) fabrication using support of Cellulose acetate (CA). The fabricated film was used to study electrochemical properties after alkali addition to IL and to determine the role of Cellulose acetate as substrate towards properties of functionalized product. Successful functionalization was confirmed using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), SEM-EDX and XRD spectroscopy while particle size distribution of overall synthesized material was below >100 nm. Electrochemical measurements were studied using impedance spectroscopy which revealed more conductive, low dielectric constant with increase in frequency using 0.2 V also supported by computing equivalent circuit model due to alkali addition in prepared electrolyte medium. In nutshell, present research work opened a greener gate of using electrolyte for battery application after alkali functionalization.
