Oscillations of Microbubbles under Ultrasound

Ultrasonography has been used as a non-invasive diagnosis in medicine. However, the similarity in tissues renders the poor quality of imaging. Microbubbles can be used as the ultrasound contrast agents. When used, microbubbles create a contrast in circulation system and increases the quality of imaging. Microbubbles can also be used in targeted gene and drug delivery. It is generally believed that the attachment of particles on the microbubbles dampen the oscillation of the bubbles under ultrasound and reduce the signal for the imaging. Here, we investigated the echogenicity of microbubbles under ultrasound and will report our findings during the conference.
