Synthesis Of Cs-NKX-2 Aluminophosphite Base Catalyst Free Of Organic Template And Its Catalytic Activity Study In Cyanoethylation Of Methanol

Cesium-containing NKX-2 (Cs-NKX-2) aluminophosphite was hydrothermally synthesized in the Al2O3-P2O5-Cs2O-H2O system free of organic template. The results indicated that CsNKX-2 crystalline phase could be obtained within 2 hours and the nucleation time was significantly accelerated in the presence of Cs+ cation as compared to that of synthesized using harmful organic amine structure-directing agent. In addition, the Cs+ cation played an important role in alteri the morphology and the crystallite size of Cs-NKX-2 particles. The resulting Cs-NKX-2 solids possessed exchangeable extraframework Cs+ cations and thus giving basicity to the crystalline product. The Cs-NKX-2 microporous material was tested in basic-catalyzed cyanoethylation reaction of methanol and high conversion of acrylonitrile with 3-ethoxy-propionitrile as the only product was obtained within 12 hours. Furthermore, the results indicated that this synthesis approach is very effective in producing many useful aluminophosphate/aluminophosphite microporous materials by simply using different alkali metal hydroxides without using organic template.
