Effect Of Electrolyte Composition On Electrode Reactions Of Iron At Potentials Of Its Active Dissolution

Anodic dissolution of iron at active dissolution potentials by the method of cyclic voltammetry in neutral solutions (pH = 5.9) was investigated. Based on the value of the maximum current due to the electroreduction of the products of anodic dissolution of iron, the effect of the initial potential, the electrolyte concentration, the ionization time of the electrode at the initial potential, the potential sweep rate on the anodic dissolution of iron was determined. The reactivity of the ionization products of the iron electrode is determined on the basis of current and cathode maximum potential as a function of the potential sweep rate and the corrosive activity of the heterocyclic amine of 2,2/-dipyridyl was investigated. A conclusion is made about the determining effect of [FeOH]ads on the process of iron ionization in the investigated electrolytes.
