Antioxidant Rich Natural Dyes Derived From Natural Materials Variations

Purple sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam), pandanus leaves (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.) and carrot (Daucus carota L.) posses antioxidant activity that potential as a natural dye. This study aimed to obtain extracts, natural colors and determine antioxidant activity. The extraction method performe dismaceration, but for carrot (Daucus carota L.) was conducted liquid-liquid partition. It was then measured the antioxidant activity using fre radical suppression of 1, 1- Diphenyl-2-PicrylHidrazil (DPPH). The result of extract yield percentage obtained were 5,37 %; 0,03 %; 5,54% respectively. The purple sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam) and carrot (Daucus carota L.) have strong antioxidant activity with IC50 value of 50,43 µg/mL and 48,63 µg/mL, for the pandanus (Pandanus amaryllifolius Roxb.) has very strong activity with IC50 value of 5,57 µg/mL Keywords : Antioxidants, Daucus carota L., Ipomoea batatas (L.)
