Contaminates Removal From Refinery Wastewater Using ZnONTs

In this study, the adsorption capability and the treatment efficiency of Al-Dorra Refinery wastewater by using zinc oxide nanotubes (ZnONTs) was described. The oil content, total suspended solids (TSS), nitrate oxides (NO3, NO2), chemical oxygen demand (COD) and trihalomethanes (THMs) were selected as a field case study in this research. The higher adsorption capacity was found to be 100% for oil and THMs. Also, the percentage removal of the Oil, and THM was 100% as well as for COD, nitrate (NO3, NO2), and TSS was 95%, 85-88% and 77%, respectively. This research approved the high efficiency and unique properties of the ZnO nanotubes as promising industrial wastewater treatment technology.
