Enhanced Laboratory Simulation Of Complex Oil And Gas Reservoirs

Experimental studies on core samples have shown that the value of the initial water saturation for conventional hydrocarbon reservoirs does not always reflect the irreducible or connate water saturation of the rocks. This work shows how the use of the initial water saturation determined at values other than the connate water saturation can affect the resulting oil-water relative permeability curves in flow experiments and production prediction results.
