Geographic Information System Of Water Damage Control To Reduce Flood Problem In Cilember River Cimahi City West Java Province

Abstract Urban floods have a greater economic impact and more difficult to manage, such as Cimahi’s flood which has occurred for almost 10 years. The destructive impacts are houses and road infrastructure damages, and property losses. The handling of floods that have been carried out by the Cimahi City Government is still partial and has not been systematic, so the flood information is not comprehensive and has not been well integrated. This research will build a Geographic Information System to control water damage by conducting flood simulations on Cilemberriver in Cimahi using parameters such as hydrological data, river cross-sectional, DEM data, and flood models which processed using HEC-RAS Software. The research product is the Geographic Information System for Water Damage Control which visualize 2 Dimensional flood simulation model based on rainfall calculation data for the period of 2 years and 5 years, which can be identified flood location, flood depth, flood area, documentation of rivers condition, also solutions by river normalization and widening in several locations. Validation of research product is done by comparing the flood location and flood depth in the model with the actual condition. The results obtained that there was a suitability of the flood location on the model with the actual condition, but there was a difference in flood depth as in the model with the highest 200 cm and the lowest 20 cm but in the actual data was 100 cm and 10 cm. After river normalizing and widening, the flood conditions initially had a depth of 10cm-250cm, reduced to 10cm-140cm. Keywords:flood, water damage control, HEC-RAS
