The Impact Of The Delay Of Road Maintenance In Terms Of Road User Costs Based On The Method Of Life Cycle Cost

Road damage can be caused road traffic load and the impact of irregularities maintenance of the drainage system. The impact of damage to roads is decreasing speed of the vehicle and can also cause damage to the vehicle. Road repair delays will increase the damage is greater. Increased damage can occur in accordance with the level of traffic density. This can lead to greater financing and ineffective. This study aims to determine the total cost of delays due to road maintenance. The calculation of the cost has been calculated on the cost of road repairs and road user costs due to road damage. Location survey has been carried out on the ring road of the University of Indonesia, Depok. There are three scenarios for road maintenance: (1) maintenance of drainage and water treatment on the shoulder of the road each year, (2) patching treatment, seal coat and slurry seals every 2 years and (3) treatment with the road surface overlay every 3 years; The results of the three scenarios have been obtained that the most effective strategy is the maintenance of the road with the first scenario. Road maintenance strategy with repairs every three years by the overlay treatment have increased the cost to the road users will be greater than the additional cost of road repairs. The cost savings can be made through the first scenario is applied to reach 44.49% of road maintenance costs and road user costs.
