Application Of K Nutrient And Paclobutrazol To Quality Of Yield And Processing Potato Cv Atlantic In Medium Altitude

Potato grow well in high land altitude, therefore grower extend potato plant area that colud gave bad impact to erosion and environment. To deminish the extensification of potato plant by cutting some trees in highland altitude, growing the potato plant in medium land with the altitude of 500-1000 m dsl could be an alternative solution. To increase the high yield of potato production, the high quality of potato seed stock is needed. Furthermore, to improve the yield quality and quality of potato processing, the application of K nutrient combined with plant growth regulator Paclobutrazol was added. The experiment was conducted at Ciparanje experimental station, Faculty of Agriculture, Padjadjaran University, Bandung, West Java, Indonesia on the medium land with the altitude 700 m dsl, inceptisol soil type, and D3 rain type of Schmidth-Ferguson. The experimental design used randomized block design for yield quality parameter and descriptive analysis for quality of potato processing. The experiment consisted of 9 combination from the first factor, tree level dosage of K nutrient (KCl) and the second factor, tree level of Paclobutrazol consentration. The potato had better yield for potato seed stock than processing potato for snack. The potato seed stock from K nutrient 150 kg ha-1 and 100 ppm paclobutrazol treatment resulted higher seed weight of C grade (56%) than others. Treatment of K nutrient 150 kg ha-1 and 100 ppm paclobutrazol and also treatment of K nutrient 125 kg ha-1 no containing paclobutrazol had bulk density value of 11.06 gL-1 and 11.90 gL-1 which is suitable as potato processing, however all of the treatments had unsuitable water content for potato processing.
