Application Of Forward Osmosis Method In Recovery Of Refined Sewage With Potassium Chloride

One of the best treatment methods is to use forward osmosis system. This method has better performance in removing pollutants and much lower power consumption than other common methods in this field. In this project, Forward Osmosis was used for industrial wastewater treatment. In the first stage, industrial wastewater was added to 200 liters of urban water by adding 70 grams of molasses. The parameters considered were measured. COD=350,TDS=1450,pH=6.7 In the next stage, the effluent was treated with two different concentrations of Draw solution. The results obtained with a draw solution of 4 Molar potassium chloride, 96% yield for 20 hours, Potassium chloride solution of 5 Molar, yield of 97% for 17 hours. The Draw solution used was Potassium chloride solution. Because it requires a little energy to recycle, it simply separates from freshwater and does not produce toxicity. It also does not chemically react with polymer membranes.
