Safety Modeling In Gas Delivery Of Liquefied Natural Gas (lng) To Cars

Undoubtedly, working in oil and gas industry, due to high operational pressure vessels and toxic substances are so dangerous. Experiences in chemical plants show that the risk is inseparable part of these plants. In order to avoid these risks, we have to identify and evaluate them. In recent decades, there have been many incidents in oil and gas industries which have led to fire, explosion or release of toxic substances in the environment. These incidents often lead up to fatality, financial and environmental damage. In the quantitative risk assessment, the severity of the incident is evaluated but in qualitative assessment, it is not possible to accurately determine the severity of the incident. By using modeling methods, we can Estimate damages to human, equipments and environment in quantitative risk assessment. In this project, PHAST software is used to show incidents and hazards for LNG storage tanks, which are used in oil and gas companies and even insurance companies due to it is user- friendly and easy to be reached by the public. In the end, it can be said that according to the results from the software, as you can see, there are not serious risks to the environment in comparison with the other oil products, which during these years cause many disastrous events such as burst of big tanks or huge fires that have happened in recent years. We can say that using LNG as a reliable fuel can be a good alternative to CNG.
