Geolectrical Equipment Research Activity In Laboratory Of Exploration And Geothermal, At Geology Department Itb

The Laboratory of exploration geology and geothermal (LEGG) established in June 2017 is designed as Research Institution under Faculty of Earth Sciences and Technology (FITB), Institut Teknologi of Bandung (ITB), which specialize in modeling of geosciences data both surface and subsurface for real world application. LEGG is the development of the previously Laboratory of Volcanology and Geothermal (LVG) which established in April 2004. The Laboratory is within the academic and research environment of ITB, which obligates to implement the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi (Education, Research, and Community Services). The laboratory objectives are: to conduct researches on applied geosciences and modeling surface and subsurface geosciences data for exploration, geological hazard mitigation, and environmental geosciences and to publish the results both in national as well as International level. Research activity funded by ITB Research Community Services which combine with funding from oil and gas, and geothermal industries, between 2005-2017. The research is divided in to : Creating a Research Tool for Mise-A-La-Masse, developing data logger with laboratory scale electrodes, developing Mise-a-la-masse tool prototype, improving tool capability for field measurement, implementing field geolectrical measurement in oil and geothermal area, developing data geolectrical processing for deep target. In this paper will demonstrated the constrain and success story during more than 10 years research, according to the LEGG research experiences, in application of geolectrical field survey for oil oil and geothermal industries have many advantages not only for quick results but also have a simple field operation for electrode array mesurement design which only use electrical injection curent and potential electrode. The latest version is LVG GLS with 120 channels which able to measured electrical potential simultaneously. Keywords: Current and potential electrode, mise a la masse, LEGG (laboratory of exploration geology and geothermal). Research activity funded by Research
