Kinetic Modeling Of Co-digestion Of Food Waste With Sewage Sludge: A Review

The paper is a review of anaerobic co – digestion of food waste and sewage sludge by presenting the fundamental concept of anaerobic digestion including four significant stage of anaerobic process, bacteria involved in each stage. Biochemical methane potential is included as a method for determining the biogas production. Kinetic modelling used as indicator in predicts the anaerobic digester, the anaerobic digestion behaviour, and optimizing the system. Although many kinetic modelling can be used, this review paper focus on first order kinetic and modified Gompertz. This paper indicates the concept and application to obtaining the methane yield by comparing the biochemical methane potential (BMP) result with kinetic modelling.
