Dye-sensitized Solar Cell Fabrication: Teoretical And Experimental Optimization

In this work, a series of fully planned sequential experiments using design of experiment technique had been conducted to design and optimize the DSSC by varying influential parameters such as thickness of TiO2 layer, concentration of electrolyte additives against the standard and benchmark dye in the DSSC field. A study has been conducted to analyze the significance of these parameters on the performance of DSSC and their interaction during the working of the cell. A step-by-step methodology was developed which was resulted into the fabrication of high efficiency DSSC. This appropriate fabrication procedure, which might help in mass production and an attempt for commercialization is briefed. A set of recommendations has been made which could produce DSSCs with high efficiency. Optimization of the input parameters, which might be resulted into high efficiency DSSC, was performed using desirability function technique and was represented graphically. The obtained optimized input parameters values were validated using the conformation experiments.
