A Retrospective Survey Of Ruminants Carcass Condemnation In Abattoirs Of Gonbad In Golestan Province, Iran (2016-2017)

This retrospective survey has been performed to evaluate condemnation rate of ruminants carcasses at 1 abattoirs of Gonbad in Golestan province, Iran. Material and Methods: All daily condemnation records were used as the sources of data. Results: In this survey 50008 sheeps, 5216 cattle, 361 goats and 85 camels were slaughtered and 0,029% sheeps, 0,266 cattle and 0,277% goats carcasses were condemned. Sarcocystis significantly leads to carcass rejection for sheeps and General tuberclusis significantly leads to carcass rejection for cattle. Conclusions: This result implies that, in contrast with some other countries, Sarcocystis is the most frequent reason for ruminants carcass condemnation in iran.
